It is important to note that for a stirrup of this design (with a quick-release arm), release is not guaranteed 100% in the event of a fall. Several factors can affect this, such as a horse falling, a loose girth causing the saddle to slip, or an unusual angle of exit that does not generate enough lateral force to open the arm. This remains very rare, but riders should be aware that no stirrup is completely foolproof in every situation.
