Galop 2 Official Guide - FFE

• French Equestrian Federation
• General Knowledge introduces the different equestrian disciplines and horse and pony housing, with a focus on right-of-way rules when riding on the road and arena figures.
• Horse Knowledge deepens your understanding of equine anatomy and physiology, covering the horse's five senses, head, limbs, and coat characteristics. It explores the social organisation of horses and takes a closer look at their feeding behaviour, along with an introduction to the main types of ponies and horses.
• Horse Care dedicates plenty of space to handling your horse — from bringing it in and out of its stable to grooming, fitting the headcollar, maintaining the saddle, and distributing feed.
• Groundwork Practice explains how to lead a horse in hand, move its head, shoulders, or hindquarters, and ask it to back up.
• Mounted Equestrian Practice explains how to become independent and confident — from mastering the mounting block and adjusting your equipment to holding the reins correctly. It covers proper position at trot and canter, transitions to help you ride all gaits with ease, and an introduction to jumping.
• The guide concludes with the tools you need to pass Galop® 2 and prepare for Galop® 3.
• Safety tips, Zoom boxes, Key Takeaways, and multiple-choice questions make revision easy, while Learn More sections, a Glossary, and equestrian culture features broaden your knowledge.
