Galop 1 Official Guide - FFE

• Book by the Fédération Française d'Equitation
• Every year, 100,000 riders take their Galop®1 — the first level of the French equestrian federation's official qualifications. The Official Federal Guide Galop®1 from the Fédération Française d'Equitation supports them through their first year of riding, using illustrations and photos to show how to build the knowledge and skills that make a true rider.
• General Knowledge answers the most common questions about riding in France, clubs, and the Federation.
• Understanding Your Horse explains how horses live and react, what they need, and how to approach them safely.
• Caring for Your Horse describes the best practices of a well-rounded horseman or horsewoman.
• Equestrian Practice on Foot covers how to move safely alongside your horse.
• Equestrian Practice in the Saddle summarises the lessons learned through hands-on riding sessions.
• The Guide concludes with review quizzes to help you self-assess and prepare to pass your Galop®1.
• This guide is the only official FFE publication aligned with the new curricula.
• Safety tips, Zoom boxes, Key takeaways, and multiple-choice questions aid memorisation, while Learn More sections enrich your equestrian culture.
