• The bit is made from stainless steel with rubber-covered mouthpieces for a gentler feel in the horse's mouth

• The Pelham bit is often recommended for better control of stronger, more spirited horses. It creates a lowering effect when the reins are attached to the lower ring, and a slightly raising effect when attached to the large ring.
• The longer the shanks, the stronger the leverage effect.
  The Pelham can be used with 2 or 4 reins. It can also be used without a curb chain to soften its action on the mouth.
  You can also use a leather strap as a replacement for the metal curb chain.
