TdeT - Black Leather Draw Reins
- Draw reins, also known as running reins, are designed to correct a neck position that is too high or poorly oriented
- When using draw reins, you ride with 2 pairs of reins: the snaffle reins, which act directly on the bit, and the draw reins, which run through the bit rings and attach to the girth
- Fully leather draw reins. Carabiner attachment system
- A girth attachment loop is included for girths without a D-ring.
- Draw reins are also known as running reins. They are much longer than regular reins — running from the girth, through the bit rings, and up into the rider's hands. The fixed attachment sits at the breastplate (or on either side of the saddle). The reins slide through the bit rings, either when the rider adjusts their length or when the horse moves its head.
- When properly fitted, they define the maximum elevation of the neck — the height the head should not exceed. In fact, they are not "adjusted" in the traditional sense; they only come into tension when the horse raises its neck above a deliberately chosen point. The head-neck angle must remain open — draw reins are absolutely not intended to bring the horse on the bit.
