A bit that offers greater control over horses that tend to evade the aids upward
The leverage effect of the bit can be increased depending on the rein position across 3 possible levels
The Pessoa bit encourages a higher head carriage in horses that tend to lean on their shoulders. The bit's action can be adjusted by placing the reins on different rings — with the bottom ring providing the strongest effect.
It is also possible to use connector rings and attach them to two of the three rings.
More experienced riders can also use four reins, allowing for greater flexibility in adjusting the bit's strength.
