• The running martingale is a rein aid made up of 2 straps: one attaches to the girth on one side and splits into 2 parts fitted with rings that slide through the reins on the other. The second strap is a neck strap that goes around the horse's neck to keep the martingale in place. Avoid adjusting it too short, as this may restrict the horse's natural neck movement.
  The running martingale is not designed to force the horse's head down, but to prevent it from throwing its head up.
