• The Metalab Jointed Rubber Pelham Bit is best suited for horses with a high head carriage or those that are difficult to stop, with a sensitive mouth.
• The pelham is used with 2 or 4 reins. It combines a gentle contact on the horse's mouth thanks to the rubber mouthpiece, with a leverage effect that allows for a stronger action.
• The pelham bit is often recommended for stronger, more forward horses. It creates a lowering effect when the reins are attached to the lower ring, and a slightly lifting effect when attached to the larger ring.
• The longer the shanks, the stronger the leverage effect.
  The pelham can be used with 2 or 4 reins. It can also be used without a curb chain to soften its action on the mouth.
  A leather strap can be used as an alternative to the metal curb chain.
