• Supplied with a curb chain, it features short shanks that limit the leverage effect for a softer action on the horse's mouth.

• The pelham bit is often recommended for stronger, more forward horses with blood. It creates a lowering effect when the reins are attached to the lower ring, and a slightly raising effect when attached to the large ring.
  The longer the shanks, the stronger the leverage.
  The pelham can be used with 2 or 4 reins. It can also be used without a curb chain to soften its action on the mouth.
  A leather strap can be used instead of the metal curb chain.

• Rinse thoroughly with clean water after each use until no residue remains.
• Do not use if the curb chain shows any sign of damage (worn, rusted, etc.).
