Keratex - Hoof Putty

• Particularly useful when your horse is recovering from an abscess, puncture wound, or hoof separation.
• Seal a small, non-infected puncture hole after thorough disinfection, allowing you to go out immediately when a poultice is not required.
• Seal a hole left after cleaning and draining an abscess, after thorough disinfection — when a poultice is needed, it allows you to ride out with confidence once the poultice is removed.
• A semi-permanent wax that seals and stabilises hoof separation, while preventing gravel, mud and debris from becoming lodged in the hole and hampering recovery. The adhesive filler also disinfects, making it the perfect recovery aid after puncture wounds and abscesses.

Knead the adhesive putty in clean hands and press firmly into the cavity until you have a dense plug for best results.

Please note that the putty will be quite firm, as it naturally takes on the consistency suited to the hoof type for optimal results — but it will soften in your hands as you shape it before setting once placed in the hoof. Gently warming it in a bowl of lukewarm water (not too hot) will also help to release the putty from the container.
