Keratex Hoof Putty

• Especially useful when your horse is recovering from an abscess, puncture, or hoof wall separation.
• For filling a small, uninfected puncture after thoroughly disinfecting the area, so you can turn your horse out immediately when a poultice is not needed
• For filling the opening left after an abscess has been cleaned and drained, once the area has been thoroughly disinfected and a poultice is needed, so you can turn your horse out with confidence after removing the poultice
• A semi-permanent wax that seals and stabilizes cracks in the hoof, while preventing gravel, mud, and debris from lodging in the opening and hindering recovery. The adhesive filling compound also disinfects, making it an ideal aid to recovery after punctures or abscesses.

Knead the adhesive putty in clean hands and press firmly into the cavity until you have a dense plug for best results.

Please note that the putty will be quite firm, as it naturally takes on the consistency suited to the hoof type for optimal results — but it will soften in your hands as you shape it before setting once placed in the hoof. Gently warming it in a bowl of lukewarm water (not too hot) will also help to release the putty from the container.
