Classic solid shampoo: Dampen the coat, mane, and the shampoo bar, then work in with a gentle massage until you reach your desired lather. There's no need to scrub vigorously — simply glide the bar over the coat to deposit the product, then work through with a grooming brush.
Brushing wet manes weakens and breaks the hair. Detangle before washing, or wait until the mane is dry.
