Jump'In - Swivel Bit with Wide Tongue Relief
- Rings: 90 mm
- Mouthpiece thickness: 17 mm
Usage
- Elevator action, ideal for horses that lean on the hand
- The rings surrounding the mouthpiece provide good framing
- Can be used as a single rein, in a double bridle, or with four reins
- The wide tongue relief allows ample space for the horse's tongue without placing pressure on the palate, enabling better breathing and encouraging the horse to work in a more consistent, settled frame.
- This bit is designed to help horses that are heavy on the forehand and tend to lean strongly on the rider's hand. The aim is to encourage the horse to lift through the withers and shift weight onto the hindquarters. Of course, this "rebalancing" effect can only be achieved if the horse has sufficient back strength and suppleness. It should therefore be avoided on young horses or those that are not yet physically prepared.
- The bit is attached to the bridle via sliding rope cheekpieces that run through two slots on the rings. The elevator cheekpieces act on the poll through the bridle's headpiece.
- This bit requires soft, educated hands, as it can easily encourage the horse to overbend. It is therefore best suited to experienced riders.
