Jump'In - Double-jointed swivel bit
- Rings: 90 mm
- Mouthpiece thickness: 17 mm
Usage
- The double joint prevents tongue pinching and reduces pressure on the palate
- Lifting action, suitable for horses that lean on the hand
- The rings surrounding the mouthpiece provide good lateral control
- This bit is particularly suited to horses on the forehand that tend to lean heavily on the hand. The aim is to encourage the horse to lift its withers and shift weight onto the hindquarters. Of course, the "rebalancing" effect can only be achieved if the horse has sufficient musculature and back suppleness. It should therefore be avoided with young horses or those that are not yet physically prepared.
- The bit is attached to the bridle via sliding rope cheeks running through two notches on the rings. The lifting cheeks act on the poll through the bridle's headpiece.
- This bit requires a skilled hand, as it can encourage horses to curl behind the vertical. It is therefore best suited to experienced riders.
