Usage

• A versatile compromise between a double bridle and a snaffle

• The double-jointed mouthpiece relieves pressure on the palate compared to a single-jointed bit
• The wide tongue relief creates generous space for the horse's tongue without putting pressure on the palate, allowing for better breathing and a more consistent, relaxed way of going.
• The Pelham bit is often recommended for stronger, more forward horses. It produces a lowering effect when the reins are attached to the lower ring, and a slightly lifting effect when attached to the large ring.

  The Pelham can be used with 2 or 4 reins. It can also be used without a curb chain to soften its action on the mouth.
