• The running martingale is an auxiliary rein consisting of 2 straps: one attaches to the girth on one side and splits into 2 parts fitted with rings that slide through the reins on the other. The second strap is a neck strap that goes around the horse's neck to keep the martingale in place. Avoid setting it too short, as this may restrict the horse's neck movement.
• The running martingale is not designed to lower the horse's head, but to prevent it from tossing its head.
