Usage

• The pelham bit is often recommended for stronger, more forward horses. It produces a lowering effect when the reins are attached to the bottom ring, and a slightly lifting effect when attached to the large ring.
• The longer the shanks, the stronger the leverage effect.
  The pelham can be used with 2 or 4 reins. It can also be used without a curb chain to soften its action on the mouth.
  A leather curb strap can be used as an alternative to the metal curb chain.
