Jump'In - Olive-cheek gag bit double-jointed
- Rings: 90 mm
- Mouthpiece thickness: 22 mm
Usage
- Acts on the horse's balance by encouraging it to rebalance and shift its weight onto the hindquarters.
- Requires specific cheekpieces
- The larger the rings, the stronger the gag action
- The fixed rings on this model help prevent pinching
- Can be used directly on the gag cheekpieces, with rein connectors, or with four reins
- The double-jointed mouthpiece makes the bit more ergonomic in the horse's mouth and avoids uncomfortable contact with the palate
- This bit is particularly suited to horses that tend to fall on the forehand and lean heavily on the hand. The aim is to encourage the horse to lift its withers and shift weight onto its hindquarters. The "rebalancing" effect can only be achieved if the horse has sufficient muscle tone and back suppleness. Therefore not recommended for young horses or those that are physically underprepared.
- The bit is attached to the bridle via sliding rope cheekpieces that run inside two notches on the rings. The gag cheekpieces act on the poll through the bridle's headpiece.
- This bit requires a sensitive hand, as it often encourages the horse to overbend. It is therefore reserved for experienced riders.
