Jump'In - Leather-covered double-jointed elevator bit
- Mouthpiece thickness: 20 mm
- Ring size: 75 mm
Use
- Acts on the horse's balance by encouraging it to rebalance and shift its weight onto the hindquarters.
- Requires specific elevator cheekpieces
- The larger the rings, the stronger the elevator action
- Can be used directly on elevator cheekpieces, with connectors, or with four reins
- The leather-covered mouthpieces provide real comfort in the horse's mouth, encouraging relaxation and softness on the leather while maintaining the tension of the German Silver double-jointed bit.
- Prevents an uncomfortably cold contact in the mouth
- Requires very little maintenance – rinse thoroughly and oil as soon as the leather stiffens, using paraffin oil or a food-grade oil.
- This bit is designed for horses that fall on the forehand and tend to lean heavily on the hand. The aim is to encourage the horse to lift its withers and shift its weight onto the hindquarters. The "rebalancing" effect can only be achieved if the horse has sufficient muscular development and back suppleness. It should therefore be avoided with young horses or those that are not yet physically prepared.
- The bit is attached to the bridle via sliding rope cheekpieces that run through two notches on the rings. The elevator cheekpieces act on the poll through the headpiece of the bridle.
- This bit requires a sensitive hand, as it often encourages the horse to overbend. It is therefore reserved for experienced riders.
Composition
Stainless steel, central olive in German Silver and leather covering
Leather, rubber, and foam bits are not guaranteed against biting, even from the very first use.
