• This is a fairly severe bit and can be challenging for some riders, as it requires maintaining contact on both reins simultaneously. If you turn on a single rein, the hackamore rotates — but the horse doesn't follow. That said, with short shanks and a comfortable noseband, it can create a pleasant sense of contact tension, which may suit more sensitive horses.
