Usage

• A gag bit, the German Pessoa is designed to prevent pinching in the areas where friction typically occurs.
• The lever action is slightly softer than on a classic Pessoa.
• Reins can be attached in a fixed position on the lower ring, using bit rings, or as two pairs of reins.
• The mouthpiece is slightly thick, but the leather softens completely once in the horse's mouth.
• The straight leather mouthpiece is a soft, natural, and comfortable bit.
• Prevents an overly cold contact in the mouth
• Requires minimal maintenance — rinse thoroughly and condition with paraffin oil or edible oil when the leather becomes stiff.
• The Pessoa bit encourages a higher head position in horses that tend to lean on the forehand. The strength of the bit can be adjusted depending on where the reins are attached to the rings — the lowest ring position provides the strongest action.
• It is also possible to use bit rings and attach them to two of the three rings.
  More experienced riders can also use four reins, allowing for greater flexibility in adjusting the strength of the bit.
