Use

• As a lowering bit, the German Pessoa is specially designed to prevent pinching at common friction points
• The lever action is slightly softer than on a classic Pessoa
• The reins can be attached fixed to the bottom ring, with bit connectors, or using two pairs of reins
• The asymmetric double mouthpiece helps correct uneven contact between left and right hand, keeping the horse in perfect symmetry
• The Pessoa bit encourages a higher head carriage in horses that tend to be heavy on the forehand. The strength of the bit can be adjusted by changing the rein position on the rings — with the bottom ring delivering the strongest action.
• It is also possible to use bit connectors and attach them to two of the three rings.
  More experienced riders can also use four reins, allowing for greater flexibility in adjusting the strength of the bit's action.
