Use

• A gag bit, the German Pessoa bit is designed to prevent pinching at common friction points
• The leverage is slightly softer than on a classic Pessoa bit
• The reins can be attached fixed to the bottom ring, with coupling reins or with two pairs of reins
• The double-jointed mouthpiece is ideal for horses sensitive to pressure on the palate
• The Pessoa bit encourages a higher headset in horses that tend to lean on the forehand. The bit's intensity can be adjusted depending on where the reins are attached to the rings — the bottom ring providing the strongest action.
• It is also possible to use coupling reins and attach them to two of the three rings.
  More experienced riders can also use four reins, allowing for greater control over the bit's intensity.
