Jump'In - Large Ring Double-Jointed Gag Bit with Tongue Relief
- Rings: 90 mm
- Mouthpiece thickness: 17 mm
Usage
- Acts on the horse's balance by encouraging it to rebalance and shift weight onto the hindquarters.
- Requires specific cheekpieces
- The larger the rings, the stronger the gag action
- Can be used directly on the gag cheekpieces, with coupling reins, or with four reins
- The wide tongue relief provides ample space for the horse's tongue without putting pressure on the palate, allowing for better breathing and a more consistent working posture.
- This bit is designed for horses that lean on the forehand and take heavy contact with the hand. The aim is to encourage the horse to lift its withers and shift weight onto the hindquarters. The "rebalancing" effect can only be achieved if the horse has sufficient musculature and back flexibility — avoid using it on young horses or those not yet physically prepared.
- The bit is attached to the bridle via sliding rope cheekpieces inside two notches on the rings. The gag cheekpieces act on the poll through the bridle's headpiece.
- This bit requires a sensitive hand, as it often encourages the horse to come behind the vertical. It is therefore best suited to experienced riders.
