Jump'In - Elevator Pin Bit Thick Twisted Square Mouthpiece
- Rings: 50 mm
- Mouthpiece thickness: 17 mm
Usage
- Acts on the horse's balance by encouraging it to rebalance and shift its weight onto the hindquarters.
- Requires specific elevator bridle cheekpieces.
- The larger the rings, the stronger the elevator action.
- The pins help channel and assist with steering.
- Can be used directly on elevator cheekpieces, with bit converters, or in a four-rein setup.
- Slightly thicker mouthpiece, suited to horses with a wider mouth conformation.
- Ideal for horses that tend to be heavy in the hand, requiring a little more control without necessarily being hard-mouthed.
- This bit is designed for horses that fall on the forehand and tend to lean heavily on the hand. The goal is to encourage the horse to lift its withers and shift weight onto its hindquarters. Of course, this rebalancing effect can only be achieved if the horse has sufficient muscle tone and back suppleness. Best avoided on young horses or those that are not yet physically prepared.
- The bit is attached to the bridle via sliding rope cheekpieces running through two slots on the rings. The elevator cheekpieces act on the poll through the bridle headpiece.
- This bit requires sensitive hands, as it often encourages the horse to overbend. It is therefore best suited to experienced riders.
