Jump'In - Elevator Double Bridle Snaffle Bit
- Rings: 30 mm
- Mouthpiece thickness: 5 mm
Usage
- Elevator double bridle snaffle bit, suited to horses with a lot of action that need the rebalancing effect of the elevator and the curb chain of the curb bit
- Smaller rings to avoid interfering with the curb bit's movement and to limit the elevator action
- Relatively thin mouthpiece to enhance the action
- This bit is designed for horses that are heavy on the forehand and tend to lean strongly on the hand. The goal is to encourage the horse to lift its withers and shift weight onto its hindquarters. Of course, the "rebalancing" effect can only be achieved if the horse has sufficient back muscle and suppleness. Best avoided on young horses or those that are not yet physically prepared.
- The bit is attached to the snaffle bridle using sliding rope cheekpieces that fit into two slots on the rings. The elevator cheekpieces act on the poll through the bridle's headpiece.
- This bit requires soft, educated hands, as it often encourages the horse to overbend. It is therefore best suited to experienced riders.
