Jump'In - Double-Jointed Pelham Bit
- Rings: 70 mm
- Mouthpiece thickness: 16 mm
Usage
- Acts on the horse's balance by encouraging it to rebalance and shift its weight onto the hindquarters.
- Requires specific cheekpiece uprights
- The larger the rings, the greater the lifting action
- The ports help channel and assist with steering
- Can be used directly on elevator cheekpieces, with roundings, or with four reins
- Long shanks providing more action
- Double-jointed mouthpiece for greater horse comfort and improved ergonomics
- The pelham bit is often recommended for better control of strong, hot-blooded horses. It produces more of a lowering effect when the reins are attached to the bottom ring, and a slight lifting effect when attached to the large rings.
- The longer the shanks, the greater the leverage effect.
The pelham can be used with 2 or 4 reins. It can also be used without a curb chain to soften its action on the mouth.
You can also use a leather strap as a replacement for the metal curb chain.
