Composition
Sweet Iron
54% carbon and 46% manganese.
Sweet Iron bits oxidise on contact with air and moisture, developing a fine layer of rust. This rust has a sweet taste that naturally stimulates saliva production. As the horse salivates more, it takes a softer contact with the bit. The oxidation process gradually changes the colour to grey/brown
