Sweet Iron
54% carbon and 46% manganese.
Sweet Iron bits oxidize on contact with air and moisture, developing a fine layer of rust. This rust has a slightly sweet taste that naturally stimulates saliva production. As the horse salivates more, it accepts a softer, more consistent contact with the bit. The oxidation process gradually changes the color to grey/brown.
