Jump'In - Locked Double-Jointed Swivel Bit
- Rings: 90 mm
- Mouthpiece thickness: 17 mm
Usage
- The double-jointed mouthpiece prevents pinching of the tongue and avoids pressure on the palate
- The self-locking mechanism allows the mouthpiece to act as a straight bar, making the bit stronger in its action
- Elevator action, ideal for horses that lean on the hand
- The rings surrounding the mouthpiece provide good lateral guidance
- This bit is designed for horses that fall on the forehand and tend to lean heavily on the hand. The goal is to encourage the horse to lift its withers and shift more weight onto the hindquarters. Of course, the "rebalancing" effect can only be achieved if the horse has sufficient back muscle and flexibility. It should therefore be avoided with young horses or those that are not yet physically prepared.
- The bit is attached to the bridle using sliding rope cheekpieces that run through two notches on the rings. The elevator cheeks act on the poll through the bridle headpiece.
- This bit requires a sensitive hand, as it often encourages the horse to curl behind the vertical. It is therefore reserved for experienced riders.
