• The Spanish bit is used with a curb chain. It looks like a classic bit, but the rings are half-moon shaped with notches where the reins are attached.
• The Spanish bit is one of the stronger bits and, as such, should only be used by experienced hands. It is best suited for very forward-going horses that are difficult to control. It helps achieve a poll-lowering effect more easily.
