• Glucosamine helps slow cartilage deterioration in all joints and supports the lubricating action of synovial fluid — the joints' natural lubricant. It also reduces the breakdown of certain cartilage molecules and improves bone vascularisation, promoting greater flexibility beneath the cartilage. When glucosamine production is disrupted, cartilage degrades and inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and osteoarthritis may develop. As glucosamine levels naturally decline with age, supplementation is recommended to maintain suppleness and elasticity in ageing horses
• Chondroitin is recommended for horses under sustained joint stress, as well as during growth and senior stages. It plays a key role in maintaining the structure and elasticity of cartilage, tendons, skin, and arterial walls
• Thanks to its sulphur content, MSM is recognised for its action on connective tissue inflammation and is believed to play a critical role in protecting the cells that make up cartilage
• Dosage to add to the base ration for an adult horse (550kg): 25g per day for 7 to 10 days, then 12.5g per day for at least 6 weeks
