Canter - Fixed Gogue Black
- Fixed gogue by Canter
- A training aid that can be used for both groundwork and ridden work.
- As with all training aids, it is important not to set it too short, particularly at the start of a session. The goal is not to confine the horse — which would cause resistance — but to provide a framework within which the horse can find its own balance freely.
- The gogue should be adjusted progressively throughout the work session. The aim is to encourage the horse to stretch its neck forward and horizontal, and to lift its back.
- It is recommended for horses with an inverted neck, a hollow back, or those affected by a compressive riding style.
- The gogue remains a rehabilitation tool. Its use should be temporary and tailored to a specific stage of the horse's training. It cannot be used permanently. The gogue also helps limit resistances caused by back pain, but does not resolve them.
