Pad Care
Ohlala's top tips for caring for your half pads:
Machine washing:
- Before putting your half pad in the machine, use a soft brush, a curry comb, or ideally a Magic Brush to remove any loose hair.
- If your half pad has delicate details, turn it inside out and place it in a laundry bag to protect it.
- Use a natural detergent 🧴 (but no fabric softener, to avoid any allergic reactions in your horse!)
- On peut également glisser les balles de lavage LeMieux qui nous permettront d'enlever encore plus de poils.
- Set the cycle to a maximum of 30 degrees.
- Do not tumble dry your half pad — leave it to air dry instead.
For half pads with sheepskin:
- If your half pad has a sheepskin section, use a hairdryer held at around 20 cm away to help maintain the volume of the sheepskin for as long as possible.
Leather, felt, gel, and mesh half pads:
- We recommend washing these half pads by hand. Use a soft brush or a slightly damp sponge.
- Add a little Marseille soap, a touch of patience, and you'll achieve equally impressive results.
- Leave it to air dry.
