Ohlala's top tips for caring for your riding helmet:
For the inner padding:
- Remove the inner padding and wash it by hand, in the machine at 30°C, or with lukewarm water and a pH-neutral soap.
- Allow it to air dry — never put it in the tumble dryer, as this will damage the technical properties of the foam.
- You can also use a helmet cleaner to freshen up the inside of your helmet on a daily basis.
- Always avoid the use of detergents or solvents.
For the helmet shell:
- Use a microfibre cloth to remove dust and avoid scratches during cleaning.
- For daily care: lightly apply a helmet cleaner to your cloth — such as the Choplin Helmet Cleaner, Casco, the Kask care kit, or simply a little water with or without pH-neutral soap.
- Please note: for shells covered in a fabric material, opt for a soft brush to dust them gently without causing any damage.
- Always avoid the use of detergents or solvents.
